Catching up

I started a new job this week (it is great), I hosted a baby shower today and it generally has been a busy week so the blog got completely neglected. My apologies and hopefully these pictures get you all caught up.

Tennessee football became very important in our house and Hadley has been sporting her gear two weekends in a row.

Other developments:

We spent the day out at the Virginia Scottish games last weekend.

Hadley has not learned to rock the exersaucer. And, she seems to have given up the pacifier this week. If we try to give it to her, she tosses it away or avoids it in protest. I guess we don’t have to worry about her being 2 years old and still using one.

We love the hoodie.

We finally broke in the jogging stroller.

Kerry’s Surprise Baby Shower

Kerry was almost totally surprised today by his co-workers with a baby shower! The surprise was sort of revealed when he had to go to the shipping department in his office building and his co-workers were getting off the elevator with a HUGE PINK cake. But, he was still surprised by the party and the fact that I escaped house arrest and came down to his office.

Kerry’s co-workers were very generous with gifts and gift cards (we won’t be having to buy our own diapers for a many months!) and it was nice to see some of my old friends.

Here is Vicky (aka the party planner) and Keith (Kerry’s boss):

Vicky has been calling Baby V ‘Agatha’ for months since Kerry would not tell her the names we were considering. So, the cards were all addressed to ‘Baby Aggie’ and she even wrote it on the board. Some of the people at the party were convinced this was our name choice.

We got some nice story books, the ‘owner’s manual’ and some cute baby things.

We both have the nicest co-workers! Thanks so much

My friends and family are the best! They put together a great baby shower for me today and we got spoiled! Baby V is outfitted in some really cute clothes (currently in the washer), has some cool ‘baby gear’ (currently being assembled by Kerry) and got burp cloths, plush blankets, a new tub, toys, rattles, pillows AND her first piece of jewelry. Of course, no pictures of me from the shower- I will have to get the pics from everyone else later. And, Gina made a great cake!
