We came home to a package on our door step today and were completely touched by the present inside. Kerry’s step-mom lost her battle with cancer in December 2006 and today Baby V received a gift from her. Erin, Kerry’s sister, sent us the nice package and the card let us know that Terri had worked on this as a surprise for Kerry and his future child. Somehow she knew! We both could not believe that she had done this (Kerry still has the blanket she made him many years ago). We decided it would look great hanging in the nursery:
Here is a close-up of all the beautiful cross-stitch work:

I remember when I first met Terri that we got a good laugh about the similar names (Terri, Kerry, Cory and Torey) and anytime someone mistakenly calls me or Kerry ‘Terry’ I think of her.
Also, in the package was some very cute clothes from Aunt Erin and Uncle Cory and a whole set of shoes. Baby V has tennis shoes, pink shoes, mary janes and the cutest pair of sparkly baby converse.
Erin, Cory and Elliott are going to come visit us in the fall and we are all excited to have the two cousins meet each other! Elliott also has some stylin’ shoes.
We are excited to have Baby V meet her aunt, uncle and cousin and to show them around DC! Thanks again for the wonderful gifts! Baby V is VERY lucky.

Also, on the agenda this week is to get the carseat installed in the car.
I finished one pillow and started on the curtains before having to get ready for Leigh’s birthday lunch!
The curtains are WAY too long so I will be finishing up the one side, hemming and adding some finishing details later today.
I am officially at 32 weeks and 3 days (only 53 days to go) and she has definitely dropped some. It must have happened over the weekend because my clothes are fitting a little different than they did on Friday and my heartburn is not as bad.
Here is a close-up of the blue-eyed elephant and the lion. Kerry and I wonder if Coco was the model for the lion.
We are excited to see the finished product and to hang it up in the nursery! Thanks Mom!
The chair did get moved back to the nursery but Kerry had to make sure it was still comfortable.
And, I promised several people I would post a profile picture of my expanding middle. No laughing allowed. I have 10 1/2 weeks left!
It has been a pretty quiet weekend at the house due to the Inauguration and not being able to easily get around town so we do not have a whole lot to update. In a few weeks we head to Charleston and so far we have plans for a ghost tour, a tour of the Hunley submarine and a trip to Fort Sumter. Let us know if you have any other suggestions!
