I get cranky sometimes.

I think Hadley has three teeth coming in. Two on top and one more to join the third one on the bottom. This whole growing of teeth thing makes for a not so happy Hadley sometimes.

Her shirt kind of sums up her mood the last few days. We really can’t complain because she is not terribly cranky but she is definitely expressing her angst over the teeth issue.

Chewing on her frog ice packĀ  seems to make everything better. Here is hoping for these teeth to appear soon and a short break from more new ones.

Tooth Number Two

100209-HV-1Hadley’s second tooth arrived sometime between Wednesday and Thursday and she has been a trooper. We knew it was coming because of the runny nose, endless drool and her constant need to chew on us. Two down, only eighteen more to go.

Besides the teeth, it has been a fairly quiet week. Hadley likes apples and this weekend we are going to try some yogurt. Since she was a little congested all week, we decided to wait on the green beans and let her have apples, pears and carrots for the week.

Dad and Kathy recently went to Colorado for a week vacation at Estes Park (see their blog post here) and they found Hadley a really cute sweatshirt. She is a big fan of trying to eat the hood. It was hard to get her picture because she is in constant motion- she loves to just roll around on the floor.

100109-HV-2And, speaking of her rolling around- Kerry was very happy this week that her constant rolling to the left has now been replaced with rolling both directions. She is picking up some serious speed in the rolling and can cover the distance of our living room in no time.

Hope everyone is having a great Friday!

Red, white and drool

This is how Kerry described Hadley this morning- red and white outfit plus her face, front of her onesie and both hands covered in drool. Still teething over here.

Since Hadley does not like thunder and lightening we decided against going to see fireworks (plus, it is way past her bedtime) and opted for a semi-quiet weekend. We were in Annapolis for part of the day and since Mom so nicely offered to watch Hadley, we got to go see the new Transformers movie. While we were at the movie, Hadley got to meet some of the neighbors and impressed everyone with her cooing and noise making ability. It would be nice to know what she is trying to communicate in this very animated one-sided discussion.

Many people that we know who have kids older than Hadley keep telling us that one of the greatest moments is when they start sleeping 10-12 hours straight through the night. Hadley is slowing moving towards that mark but the two of us have yet to make it through the night without waking up in a panic that we have missed hearing her, she has gotten stuck on her stomach or the common, ‘oh my god has she stopped breathing’ scenario. Of course, when we go to check on her- she is sound asleep and perfectly sound. She has started scooting around her crib and will often end up in a corner- unable to figure out what to do next. This morning I looked on the monitor and all I saw was the lower half of her body in the upper part of the screen.

Tomorrow might be the big first adventure to the pool. If it happens, we will be sure to post photos. Hope everyone has a wonderful and happy 4th of July!

We might have teeth

hadley0614-1

Well, Hadley might have teeth coming in- front and bottom center. Yesterday I noticed a white spot on her gums and after looking closer- her lower gum in the center is almost transparent and there are two distinct white spots. Most babies get teeth between 4-7 months but it can really happen anytime. After looking at different articles online- Hadley has most of the symptoms right now. Ear pulling, gnawing (on her fists and us), drooling (buckets full), the aforementioned white spots and changes in eating. Today we added fussy to her list of symptoms but if I had teeth coming through my gums- I am fairly certain I would not be too happy about it either. We now are stocked up on baby orajel, teething tablets and teething rings. Next purchase- small bag of frozen peas for her to gnaw on.

We went to Annapolis today to celebrate my birthday with Mom and had a great lunch. Mom finished the school year on Friday and Kerry and I are very jealous about her summer off. I wish I did not have to go back to work until August.

Here is a fun picture to give you a little perspective on Hadley’s current size but remember we do have a very over-sized couch.
